I have been blessed
to share my life and home with
Great Danes for 40 years and in
that time have had brindles, fawn, blue
and harlequin and currently have added a
black to the family and his name is
Klaudius, a Pagen son. I also, have
rescued cats and have had many
rescued dogs including
Danes and today am
involved with Great Dane rescue.
All this started many years ago when in
an old movie a brindle Great
Dane, Juno, owned by Mrs
Barbara Woodhouse, caught my eye and I
was besotted.
Although I did not know it at the time,
I was spoilt with my first Great
Dane, a solid brindle female
‘Gypsy’, she was very special and lived
to one week short of 14 years. That was
the beginning of a life of wonder with
these magnificent beings.
At present a blue male, two harlequin,
males (father and son) and one blue
harlequin female keep me busy. They all
run free, together, without discord
(except of-course when season time is
high) a testament to their wonderful
temperaments, running and swimming at
the nearby beach is a favourite.
I am a relative new comer to showing, so
as in all things, there is still much to
learn.
My Danes are first and
most importantly my treasured
companions.
It is a joy to spend my time in their
company. and they have taken over my
heart and home.
Sadly we lost our beloved Cooper late
2010, he will always be remembered in
our hearts.
Enjoy your visit, Patricia |
